I love going to a bakery or pastry shop, choosing the perfect pastry can just brighten up your day! One thing that always gets me, however, is trying to figure out which pastry to eat! Have you been there too?
Recently I went to the Bouchon Bakery in New York City. When I got in I had no idea the selection of delicious pastries, cookies, and bread would be so large!
At that moment I stood in line just staring at the display not knowing which option to choose! Being that there were people waiting for me to make a selection, the pressure was on! So I quickly chose a delicious Cheese Danish.
I’m glad the selection I made was a great one, but after that, I thought “there must be a quicker way to choose the perfect pastry without taking so long!”
So I came up with this quick guide to help you make the perfect pastry selection at any bakery:

Do Your Research
Before you go to any bakery, look up their menu ahead of time. This way you’ll see what their options are and you’ll be able to choose the perfect pastry that fits you!
What are you in the Mood for?
Depending on the day, the weather outside, or if you’re in the mood to eat sweet or a little in between, you can quickly make your selection.
For instance, if it’s cold outside you may want to try a pastry that can be warmed! If you’re in the mood to eat something sweeter you can eliminate those options that aren’t too sweet.
Ask the Server for a Suggestion
If you’re really stuck on what pastry to choose, just ask a server! The servers have probably tried every option on the menu and can quickly guide you through the selections they think you may be interested in!
So the next time you go to a bakery or pastry shop, keep these tips in mind and you’ll quickly become a pro at choosing your perfect pastry!
